Submitting to the ASHA journals just got easier now that all 5 journals are accepting submissions through Editorial Manager! Editorial Manager is a top online manuscript submission and peer review platform where articles are submitted, reviewed, and accepted all in one place!
New papers should be submitted via the Editorial Manager sites for AJA, AJSLP, JSLHR, LSHSS, and Perspectives. A full guide for authors is also available on the ASHA Journals Academy.
Editorial Manager is the official submission system for over 5,000 journals. Additionally, this system has allowed the ASHA Journals to customize the experience for editors, reviewers, and authors in a way that the ASHA Journals haven’t offered before.
“Editorial Manager’s level of configurability and its many integrations with other systems will help us more rapidly and efficiently meet our goals,” said Director of Serial Publications Mike Cannon. “Our program is highly focused on strengthening the evidence base in our discipline, so we needed a submission and peer review platform that could help us better meet the needs of our editorial boards, tailor our processes to our evolving scope of content, and more rapidly innovate in an ever-changing environment.”
Some new features already in place include different submission forms based on the article type and revision status, as well as a unique system that can auto-fill important paper details in a correctly formatted manuscript, saving authors time.
Additionally, the platform works similarly to the previous system, so users with previous experience in ASHA’s former submission system should find the process simple, no matter the task. In addition to features that ASHA Journals authors are already used to, such as integrations with Kudos and Publons to help authors disseminate their work and reviewers get recognized for their work, Editorial Manager also provides an easy way for authors to integrate their ORCiD IDs to make log in easier.
Authors who currently have a paper under review or recently submitted to an ASHA journal in manuscript central should continue working within that system until instructed otherwise. If you have questions about your paper, please contact the editorial office for the journal you are submitting to via the emails provided on the submission instructions page.
